As the city with North America’s 3rd most skyscrapers exceeding the height of 200 meters, (656 ft.), Toronto offers the photographer a dizzying number of photo ops. There is also the contrasting architectural options of historical sites and landmarks such as Massey Hall, Arts & Letter Club and the Church of Holy Trinity. (Escape from the cold and enter a world of pristine beauty within the church to capture stained glass windows. Your DPA instructor can show you how to capture a silhouette of a person’s profile against the window. There are wonderful interior photos ops such as a peaceful scene of wooden pews, trim work and other design flourishes aglow in natural light.)
Your DPA instructor can demonstrate and supervise a worm’s eye perspective rendering the towering structures pasted against the sky for a visually surreal effect. Or perhaps frame a building with the sculptures, pedestrians and trees in the foreground with a head-on focus to convey an elaborate photographic narrative in your panoramic image.
Try catching musicians and other street performers in Dundas Square.
There will be countless opportunities to create compelling portraits of shoppers on the go, dog-walkers, street hipsters as well as those living life as an outside and what it all entails. Your DPA instructor will share techniques to approach individuals and take their photos as well as long range approaches to observe a day-in-the-life of a person who appears to exist in some sort of unique world of their own.
Call Digital Photo Academy at 1 877 372 2231. Lots of people seem to hang up if our welcome recording comes on instead of a live voice, but we promise to return your message within a day or two if you leave one with your name and number. It would be even better if you included your e mail address as well as the date and city of the class you are considering. If leaving a voice mail message is not your thing, please email us at [email protected].
