Join our East River Sunset Shoot, at one of the premier Houston venues in our rotation, offering an incredible variety of photographic opportunities in every season.

Venue Description:

East River 9 offers a unique vantage point for photographing the Houston skyline at sunset. Located just east of downtown, this open landscape provides unobstructed views of the city framed against the changing evening sky, making it an ideal setting for learning sunset and cityscape photography.

During the workshop, your Digital Photo Academy instructor will guide you through techniques tailored to sunset conditions. You’ll practice using tripods, adjusting settings for changing light, and composing skyline images as the sun sets behind downtown Houston.

Participants will explore framing the skyline with foreground elements, working with reflections and open space, and capturing the transition from golden hour to last light. The session will conclude with a brief discussion on image review and suggestions for post-processing to enhance sunset and cityscape photographs.

This workshop is well suited for photographers of all levels looking to strengthen their understanding of sunset photography and urban landscapes in a relaxed outdoor environment.

Know Before You Go:

Bring your camera or cellphone and any gear you can comfortably carry. Make sure batteries are fully charged and memory cards have space. Dress for the weather, and wear comfortable shoes for walking.
