Hugh has been a Professional Photographer for 45 years. Over that time, he has photographed thousands of weddings, portraits, and sports pictures. Additionally, he did work for Lincoln Mercury, Tektronix and several other companies. He is now semi-retired, though he still shoots some events and do video for a local Actors Guild. He also teaches Photography (Beginners, Intermediated, and Advance,) and Photoshop (Beginners and Intermediated) at Wayne County Community College (Downriver Campus).
Over the years he has trained many people that became successful Professional Photographers on their own.
Hugh had two Uncles that were Professional Photographers, one of them who worked for the Detroit Times Newspaper and did sport photography. The other built his own business and was very well known and successful throughout the Detroit Metro Area. As a kid, Hugh would go out with him and help him at some of his events. As he became older his uncle helped him buy his first professional camera and flash unit and trained him. Without him (Bernard Winer,) he may not have become the Photographer that he is today.
Hugh is now moving into hybrid photography and is using a mirrorless camera as one of his main cameras.
His biggest joy is helping others learn to make beautiful photographs, so teaching photography is a dream come true for him!
Call Digital Photo Academy at 1 877 372 2231. Lots of people seem to hang up if our welcome recording comes on instead of a live voice, but we promise to return your message within a day or two if you leave one with your name and number. It would be even better if you included your e mail address as well as the date and city of the class you are considering. If leaving a voice mail message is not your thing, please email us at [email protected] or [email protected].

Thank you Hugh. We just got back from our Mediterranean cruise where some of techniques you used really paid off for some great pictures I.e. creating a natural border and ISO. We look forward to finding an opportunity to attend the make up class.
