South Congress Ave, SOCO
Take in the sites of South Congress Avenue (SOCO) on a guided walking photo tour. SOCO is a vibrant Austin neighborhood south of Lady Bird Lake and is a perfect backdrop to learn a bit about photography. Your Digital Photo Academy instructor will help you capture street portraiture from a dog walker to a fashionably dressed shopper. Learn panning as a bicyclist zooms across your view or maybe a pigeon.
There are specific strategies to photograph glass store fronts and pools of water, with or without reflections. And the store fronts are colorful and if you are lucky you might catch a clever shot of the busy store staff inside or outside of the establishment. There are many perspectives your instructor will demonstrate for capturing a skyline whether, Rule of Thirds, Worm’s Eye view straight up or a Leading Lines strategies to help tell the story of your photograph from beginning to end.
The workshop focuses on a rich variety of photo compositions and tips for getting the most out of your camera. Just take a look at the slide show and you will get a sense of the photo ops demonstrated and supervised by your instructor.
Join us as we explore Austin’s yesteryear and discover something new about photography. If you’re photo interested, just getting started, or a seasoned pro, pack up your cell phone, Point-and-Shoot, DSLR, or Mirrorless camera.
We’ll meet outside Jo’s Coffee, 1300 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704, on the W. James street side of the building, near the famous I Love You So Much mural.
