Lydia Higginson, Executive Director of the Southlands Foundation, invites you to explore their magnificent 200-acre property just outside Rhinebeck, NY. Expert Guidance from Lynn Alaimo
These workshops are limited to just 8 attendees and are scheduled for Saturday, October 14 and Sunday, November 19, from 10AM to 2PM. Lynn Alaimo, a seasoned Digital Photo Academy instructor, will be your guide throughout the day.
Master Your Camera
The workshop kicks off with hands-on demonstrations tailored to your camera type. Lynn ensures that everyone maximizes their camera’s potential, making this workshop suitable for all skill levels.
Capture Majestic Moments
After the initial instruction, Lynn will lead your small group through the scenic fields. She’ll demonstrate composition strategies and supervise as you practice with them, helping you capture magical moments with the horses and their rustic surroundings. Your resulting images will be perfect for gifts or wall decor.
Explore composition techniques like Leading Lines, Rule of Thirds, Panning, and the use of Negative Space. Master Depth of Field, or learn the Art of Bokeh to create dreamlike effects. Experiment with angles, cropping, and storytelling in your photography, and take the opportunity to capture close-ups of the horses and the barn’s exterior to hone your skills.
Lynn’s guidance will equip you with valuable skills applicable to all your future photography adventures. These techniques will enhance your ability to pre-visualize your shots, creating a solid photography foundation to use during family gatherings, neighborhood strolls, or action-packed events. You’ll even be ready for once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences.
Get Valuable Critiques
The workshop will conclude with a critique session, providing you with feedback and an opportunity to discuss visual strategies for taking dynamic images.

Call Digital Photo Academy at 1 877 372 2231. Lots of people seem to hang up if our welcome recording comes on instead of a live voice, but we promise to return your message within a day or two if you leave one with your name and number. It would be even better if you included your e mail address as well as the date and city of the class you are considering. If leaving a voice mail message is not your thing, please email us at DPAbooking@digitalphotoacademy.com.
