Taylor Smith
Taylor Smith
Taylor Smith is a Miami-based photographer with a passion for teaching and photography. She started her photography career in high school, where she fell in love with the camera, and has continued it ever since. Currently earning a degree in education at the University of Miami, Taylor is a part of a generation that knows all about technology, skills she takes advantage of both while shooting her photos and editing them on her computer afterwards.
Photography for Taylor has opened many doors, allowing her to travel the world to document different sights. Notably, she has returned from a trip to Borneo, Indonesia, where she photographed Orangutans in the wild. She has been all over Vancouver, Canada photographing the Whales, Seals, Sea Otters, and Bald Eagles. During these trips, she has had the opportunity to collaborate with other photographers, picking up new techniques and skills along the way. Her heart, however, will always belong to the Everglades, where she frequents in search of the variety of birds, as well as the serene yet shockingly beautiful landscapes the National Park has to offer.
While her passion is for wildlife photography, she enjoys the quiet moments that can be captured in landscapes, architecture, flowers, and portraits. The first few years of her career focused on documenting her family and surrounding Miami neighborhood. Taylor has been teaching photography informally for years, as it combines her two favorite things: education and photography.
