Its no wonder that on any given day or night, you will encounter photographers taking photos at the Oculus. Not surprisingly, the venue is of great cultural interest, even world wide, but its features beg to be photographed.
Your DPA instructor, well familiar with the venue, will make sure you see the broad view as well as the less obvious photo ops. Everywhere you turn are architectural flourishes that can be depicted as abstractions or straightforward exotic architecture photography. Beyond the Oculus there are skyscrapers that offer interesting photography interpretations whether eye level or looking skyward.
The category of street portraiture is also abundant in the area, whether professionals scurrying along with cell phones, wide-eyed tourists and those struggling to get by. Individually or collectively your camera can tell a compelling story.
Additionally, there are also nearby attractions, such as the Memorial Waterfalls, striking to view and with help from your DPA instructor, an ideal vehicle to practice shutter speed priority control on your camera. Go for the impressionistic velvety smooth flow of eternally moving waters or a crystal clear depiction of the falls at split-second stop motion.
You will walk away with portfolio-worthy images. Your instructor will make sure you see all there is to photograph.
