Tip – the Rule of Thirds in Photography

The Rule of Thirds

Imagine the image divided into nine equal parts by two equally spaced horizontal lines, and two equally spaced vertical lines. Place important compositional elements along these lines, or their intersections.

Example 1: desert scene indicating the rule of thirds lines
Example 2: you could point the camera straight at the dancer…
Example 3: …or step back and apply the rule of thirds for better balance
