Cheryl Sabin
Cheryl is a self-taught photographer. In 2019, with her children grown and no longer depending on her, she realized she didn’t have a hobby. Having always been interested in photography as a teenager, she began venturing out with her mobile phone to capture sunrises and sunsets.
In 2020, she purchased her first camera and taught herself how to use it along with the art of composition. That same year, Nikon featured one of her photos on their social media accounts, inspiring her to continue pursuing photography.
Cheryl loves photographing wildlife, landscapes, and astrophotography. She has traveled to many destinations across the U.S. and abroad to capture unique photo opportunities, including Fire Falls at Yosemite National Park in 2022, a full solar eclipse in Maine in 2023, and the breathtaking Aurora Borealis in Alaska’s cold, crisp skies.
Now, Cheryl is excited to share her passion and experiences with students, helping them grow their own photography skills.

Here is a photo from the day plus some of my home “wildlife” photography. Pets make great practice!
It was nice to meet everyone. Thank you Cheryl for all of your instruction and advice! It was a fun class. Now to tackle editing lol

Thank you! The workshop was informative. My goal was to be more comfortable working in manual and aperture settings, so I do feel like I got a good introduction to that. Working in the museum as a venue gave opportunities for varied light. Cheryl was knowledgeable and friendly. She did well with pointing out certain adjustments for various situations/photo ops.
