Greynolds Park
Greynolds Park
Greynolds Park
Venue Description:
Stepping inside Greynolds Park is like entering another world steeped in history and natural beauty. The majestic Oleta River, which courses along the east side of the Park, was used as a means of transportation for the Tequesta Native Americans and later, the surrounding land was used as a trading post and supply source for the Seminoles.
Today, great hawks swoop overhead and purple buds blossom around you as you meander through the hardwood hammock and saunter by the mangrove forest. Join your Digital Photo Academy instructor as you and your camera become absorbed into the magic of Greynolds Park. Working alongside a professional photographer gives you the opportunity to both receive instruction and experiment with your camera. You will learn new techniques for shooting outdoors, in both bright and low-light areas, as you play with light and shadow.
During the shoot, you will learn the secrets of the trade from a professional photographer and new compositional techniques such as how to bring out the colors in nature, approach strangers for their photograph or shoot them from a distance to create an authentic environmental portrait. Learn to capture a bird in flight or capture a stationary one and use the branches as a framing composition for a more dynamic shot. Use light and shadow to highlight certain details in your subjects.
Your DPA instructor will walk the area with you, all the while conveying the concepts of composition and camera operation to help you approach this fascinating area in a way that will help you access your creative point of view and enhance the wonderful light.
Please bring your DSLR or another type of digital camera that you use, a fully-charged battery, and the equipment that you can carry. Be sure to dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes, and bring a bottle of water.
