Nick Quinn

Nick Quinn is a professional photographer, educator, and workshop leader with more than four decades of experience behind the camera. His passion for photography began at the age of nine, when he immersed himself in learning the craft through books, experimentation, and hands-on practice—a curiosity that would shape a lifelong career.

In 1982, Nick earned a degree in Commercial Photography and relocated to Houston, Texas, where he began his professional career. Over the years, he developed a reputation not only for his photographic work, but also for his ability to clearly and effectively share his knowledge with others. Whether working with professionals or dedicated amateurs, Nick discovered a deep passion for teaching and mentoring photographers at all stages of their journey.

Nick was an early adopter of digital imaging technologies, beginning his work with Adobe Photoshop in 1991—well before it became standard within the industry. His commitment to mastering this complex software led him through years of advanced study and experimentation, building a deep technical and artistic understanding of digital post- processing.

Since 2001, Nick has taught Photoshop to both professional and amateur photographers. Today, he draws on more than 43 years of professional photography experience and 34 years of Photoshop expertise to guide students through the complete photographic process—from recognizing compelling light and making a strong initial exposure to refining and finishing images in post-production. His teaching approach incorporates multiple instructional methods to ensure each student can learn effectively, regardless of learning style.

Nick led professional photography workshops alongside a fellow photographer from 2011 to 2018 in Big Bend National Park. From 2018 through 2024, he independently led photography workshops in Big Bend National Park and Great Smoky Mountains National Park, helping participants deepen both their technical skills and artistic vision in some of the most iconic landscapes in the United States.
