Patrick Reed
Patrick Reed
Patrick Reed is a photographer with a broad range of expertise, specializing in street and portrait photography, though he is skilled in many other genres as well. His work emphasizes candid moments and natural expression. He got started in photography through the Boy Scouts, where documenting trips and events taught him to observe what was happening in front of him rather than direct or stage a scene. That early experience grew into a lasting interest in street photography and portraiture, which he finds particularly rewarding for capturing presence and character over polish.
His portraits are straightforward and intentional, shaped by a documentary mindset and a respect for real people. Patrick has photographed street scenes in China, Japan, Europe, the Middle East, and throughout the United States. Working in different cultures and environments has reinforced his focus on observation and adaptability, and on finding common human moments regardless of location.
He works with both film and digital cameras and is an active member of several local camera clubs, where he continues to develop his work through critique, collaboration, and ongoing practice. His photography is grounded in authenticity, careful composition, and an interest in honest, human-centered storytelling. He is excited to bring his knowledge and experiences to teaching, eager to inspire and guide others in capturing the world through their own lenses.

The instructors were so helpful and complimented each other with the different viewpoints and experiences they brought to the table.
Dad had the photography spark in his eyes again. He used to do a lot with traditional film back in the 70s and had some stories I did not even know of.

The teacher to student ratio was great. I learned a lot about my camera and how to use various settings during the class. It was a very useful introductory class and I look forward to doing the second half of the class in the future where I actually practice what I learned. Thank you

Happy Sunday! I just want to report that I had the best class ever! I’m going to Best Buy right now for a new memory card. Pat and Tina are wonderful – I called my husband as soon as I got to the car to say I had a private lesson with two pros – luckiest woman ever right here!!
Thank you again for helping me get back on my camera feet!
